We are regular people just like you. We are Canadians who often identify ourselves with this vast, wild, beautiful land we live in. We live relatively simple lives in the Canadian Rockies because we can. We thrive on the thrill and beauty of our great outdoors, and ask for little more out of life than the opportunity to share great experiences with great people. We work modest jobs and put our free time into journeys and experiences that enrich our lives and the lives of those around us. As members of a community that is passionate about adventure and recreation, we also appreciate that we are unique and extremely fortunate in this world to have the luxury of such pursuits. For many, and for many with whom we cross paths in the far corners of our wild world, fulfilling basic needs will always be a burdening priority. They will never have the freedom or the resources to escape their daily hardships to chase a summit, paddle a river, or carve deep powder turns. We do this because we are born into a world of freedom, opportunity, and an incredibly reliable safety net that catches us whenever and however we fall. We are aware of our unique fortunes, and want to share as much as we can with the great people out there who inspire us with their simplicity, good spirit, and generous nature despite the overwhelming challenges of their daily lives. Most importantly, we know that a world of hope is easy to provide.
At this point, we cannot call ourselves a charity, but simply a project. We do not have "registered charity" status, nor are we willing to divert any more time or funding away from our cause until this mission has been accomplished. As we see it, until we have the opportunity to establish ourselves officially, every nickel and dime coming to us will be sent directly down the path towards this cause, not lost in administration or any other peripheral expenses.
We are based purely on honesty, a helping spirit, and a drive to make a big difference out of simple generosity. So if you choose to help us out, you must understand that at this point we cannot meet any donations with a tax receipt, but with an honest promise that every bit of it will go providing an ambulance and the hope of a sustainable emergency medical program to the people of isolated regions of Central America, who currently have little or no safety net in their daily lives.
This is our first project, hopefully of many in years to come. Please help us make it a success!
